LOW COST INTRODUCTION TO OXY-FUEL AND PLASMA CUTTING
10 January 2003 - ESAB Group
| The new low cost Ultrarex UXL-P can be used for many different cutting tasks and provides features and benefits normally associated with more expensive cutting machine technology. It can be used as a high speed plasma machine or alternatively for single or twin head oxy-fuel applications. The combined machine offers high versatility at an economical cost with cutting thicknesses of 100mm achievable with oxy-fuel cutting. For plasma, various systems up to 100 A can be supplied to suit varied cutting requirements. The Ultrarex UXL-P has a cutting width of up to 2,000 mm with two torches and a high speed cutting capability. |

The Ultrarex UXL-P provides the fabricators with the opportunity to carry out a variety of work in-house thanks to its versatility, reducing outside sub-contract cutting. Increased productivity is offered by the Ultrarex UXL-P by fully automatic cutting cycles for both plasma and oxy-fuel cutting. This is achieved by including systems for automatic ignition, automatic height control and automatic piercing. The cutting processes have been integrated into the machine design. A full oxy-fuel gas distribution system, including a set of solenoids, ensures reliable automatic hole piercing. Accuracy is a key benefit of the Ultrarex UXL-P and the transverse linear guiding system gives the highest accuracy throughout the entire cutting area. Associated ESAB numerical controls guarantee efficient job preparation. A library with 65 fixed programs is supplied as standard.
