HANDY PORTABLE SHAPE CUTTER

ESAB Automation's Silhouette 500 small, portable shape cutter offers low cost precision flame cutting and is able to produce both simple and complex shapes. It has an adjustable cutting speed of 102mm to 762mm/minute and incorporates up to three standard oxy-fuel cutting torches. A plasma torch is now also available on the high speed machine option.

Featuring a photo-optical tracer integrated with the machine controls for convenience, the low maintenance Silhouette can automatically trace line drawings. Plate material to be cut can have a standard size of 610mm by 610mm which can be increased by adding track extensions.

Typical applications include the production of complex cut shapes using existing templates. Users can remove the cutting torch and, replacing it with a drawing pen, simulate the cutting operation. It can also be used to trace complicated paper problems with its photo-optical tracer.

An off-line programming system can be supplied with Silhouette to assist in setting out work whilst the machine is in operation. Furthermore, the nesting capacity ensures that there is no wastage of plate. An optional CNC control is also available to give the all round benefits of larger, more expensive machines.
