The new Eye-Tech 5-13 automatic welding helmet from ESAB can help ensure higher productivity and welding quality by offering significant advantages for the welder in terms of safety, comfort and convenience. Based on an ergonomic design and incorporating modern, advanced electronics, the Eye-Tech 5-13 embodies all the advantages and reliability of the traditional Eye-Tech helmet, but with further improvements. The new Eye-Tech 5-13 can be used for most welding applications, including MIG, TIG and Gas welding, thanks to the darkness of the eye shade being continually adjustable between shades 5 and 13.The stylish helmet has the traditional Eye-Tech design, but comes in an attractive, heat reflective metallic silver finish. Powered by solar cells, the Eye-Tech 5-13 automatically switches from light to dark in only 0.0005 seconds when an arc is struck, and switches back from dark to light in 0.4 seconds when welding is completed. For performing cutting and grinding operations without removing the helmet, the lens will remain clear for 10 minutes when the main button is pressed, with a red warning light inside the helmet reminding the wearer when grinding mode is selected. CE approved to EN166/379, the ESAB Eye-Tech 5-13 is adjustable for head size with five settings, can be used throughout a wide temperature range of -5 degrees to +55 degrees C, able to be fitted with magnifying lenses and optional fresh air unit, and has a total weight of approximately 500g.
