NEW MULTI CUTTING HEAD WITH WATERJET MACHINE
30 November 2001 - ESAB Group

With more and more companies realising the benefits of waterjet's omni-directional cuttings capabilities, ESAB Automation has brought increased versatility to the process. A new multi-headed Hydrocut machine, providing the capability of simultaneous cutting with four gantry mounted torches, has now been introduced. Waterjet cutting allow precise contours, intricate shapes, sharp and bevel angles to be cut accurately without the need for secondary machining. All metals, including high value and exotic materials can be cut as well as many other non-metallic materials.

Waterjet cutting allow precise contours, intricate shapes, sharp and bevel angles to be cut accurately without the need for secondary machining. All metals, including high value and exotic materials can be cut as well as many other non-metallic materials.

To maximise the benefits of waterjet the Hydrocut multi-headed machine has a highly rugged construction. This is achieved through its sturdy box beam gantry and AC digital brushless motors which provide precise motion control and high positional accuracy rated at ± 0.03mm. Cutting tables are available in a range of sizes with cutting speeds up to 10.6 metres/minute achievable from all four cutting heads working simultaneously. This will allows fabricators to benefit from even greater productivity rates than can be achieved with a single head.

Combined plasma and waterjet cutting torches configurations can also be provided whilst other applications such plasma or ink marking and template tracing can also be met.

Hydrocut is complemented by ESAB's user friendly Vision CNC control and software to provide flexible process and motion control.
