ESAB has introduced stainless steel welding wire in an octagonal Marathon Pac as a result of increasing demand from the automotive and related industries. The main benefits of the octagonal Marathon Pac are higher productivity, less downtime, consistent feeding and environmental benefits through its 100% recyclable corrugated cardboard construction. Marathon Pacs using stainless wires are ideal for robotic welding and results to date have been excellent. The range of stainless steel wires available in Marathon Pac comprises OK Autrod 16.12 (308), 16.32 (316), 16.51 (309) and 16.95 (307) in 1.0 and 1.2mm diameters.
