CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVING THE WORLD LEADING SOFTWARE FOR RAPID PROTOTYPING AND MANUFACTURING
22 May 2006 - Materialise NV

Materialise announced today the release of a new Magics X Service Pack. Service Pack 2 offers the Magics users the latest improvements and innovations of Magics X, like increased stability, an attuned user interface and extra options for fast 3D geometry-based part nesting.

Materialise' Software department is continuously improving its RP&M software. This Service Pack includes features, which have been developed to adapt Magics better to the everyday workflow. Now you have, for example, the capability to extract separate parts from a .magics file.

Ultimate in user-friendliness, speed, functionality and reliability

Magics X, released in October 2005, represents a far-sighted evolution from previous versions. It's the product of customer feedback, as well as proof of Materialise' determination to provide its customers with a competitive edge. Magics is powerful, smart software that enhances its users' efficiency and productivity. It's now the ultimate in user-friendliness, speed, functionality and reliability, and our customers agree!

Today, approximately 1400 customers have installed Magics X. We've received a lot of positive reaction for its impressive, customizable, user-friendly user interface and advanced capabilities.

"The product's new user interface, faster rendering, more efficient handling of large files, and improved importing and exporting of files make it worth serious consideration", says Terry Wohlers industry consultant and president of Wohlers Associates. "Magics X is characteristic of the success that Materialise has enjoyed for so many years."

What's new on Magics X Service Pack 2:
Increased stability
Enhanced SmartSpace module: the 3D nesting algorithm has been improved. Now you can choose between looking for the optimal solution and finding a first solution in a short time.
Improvements to the Support Generation module,
Attuned user-interface, e.g.: the synchronisation of the part name in the different part list tabs.
