Matrox Graphics Inc., today announced that Avnet Visual + Data Solutions will bundle the Matrox RAD Series and Matrox TheatreVUE Series of display controller boards with select EIZO RadiForce medical displays. These packages allow medical imaging professionals to view high-quality, accurate images in review, diagnostic and educational stations, for the utmost in flexibility and productivity. With the ability to clone the primary display to a projector, the Matrox TheatreVUE medical display projection controller boards are ideal for theatre-style classrooms and operating rooms.

With dual output support of up to 2 MP grayscale or color, analog or digital displays, the RAD2mp display controller board continues Matrox's world-renowned tradition of imaging excellence. The RAD2mp board is also equipped with Hardware Pivot for smooth and accelerated portrait image displays, and is capable of driving various combinations of color and grayscale displays in stretched or independent modes. Also featured in the RAD2mp display controller board is Matrox's real-time grayscale processing technology, ExtendiGrayŠ. For grayscale displays, one feature of ExtendiGray is the concurrent execution of legacy 8-bit grayscale applications alongside color Microsoft Windows desktop applications such as Word and Internet Explorer without any desktop artifacts. A second feature is the ability to convert color displays to grayscale.

"We are proud to offer our customers this new EIZO/Matrox medical solution," says Peter Thaens, divisional manager, Avnet Visual + Data Solutions. "Matrox medical products offer the flexibility and stability our customers expect, along with the image quality required for the medical imaging market. Combined with our EIZO displays, this bundled offering represents an outstanding medical solution."

The TheatreVUE medical display projection controller boards have the ability to drive a primary output of up to 2 MP analog or 3 MP digital in portrait or landscape, grayscale or color modes, and can clone any portion of the primary display onto an analogy projector at up to 2 MP. With high-performance window & level and image load functionality, the TheatreVUE display projection controllers produce pristine image quality at high bit-depths and flicker-free output.

"Matrox is pleased to continue its partnership with Avnet Visual + Data Solutions to expand and offer these bundled solutions," says George Rigas, medical product manager, Matrox Graphics Inc.
