GREAT LAKES EXPANDS LINE OF HINDERED AMINE LIGHT STABILISERS
12 April 2002 - Great Lakes Chemical Corporation
| Great Lakes Chemical Corporation has launched Lowilite 92, a new hindered amine light stabiliser (HALS) that offers UV protection for polymers. |
Lowilite 92 is a clear liquid, offering good solubility in polyols and reduced interaction with other additives such as pigments and various stabilisers that are typically used in polyolefin production. Lowilite 92 is particularly effective in liquid polymer systems used in the manufacture of coatings and rigid polyurethane (PUR). Great Lakes offers a broad range of solid and liquid, monomeric and polymeric Hals. The Lowilite line offers superior performance compared to traditional UV absorbers and is primarily used in polyolefin applications including automotive plastic parts, fibres, plastic crates and films. Lowilite 92 is produced at the Great Lakes manufacturing facility in Waldkraiburg, Germany. To ensure security of supply, intermediate materials used in the manufacture of Lowilite 92 and the existing range of HALS are produced at the company’s facility in Ravenna, Italy.
