MATROX LAUNCHES SMART CAMERA AT IPOT

Today at the IPOT show, Matrox Imaging announced the Matrox Iris P-Series, a new line of powerful programmable smart cameras designed for professional developers and OEMs. "Matrox Iris P-Series represents a new level of integration for Matrox products," says François Bertrand, Director Sales and Marketing, Matrox Imaging. "What we are offering to Matrox customers is a unique mix of sensor, processing, and software technologies in one package," he adds. The Matrox Iris P-Series is a smart camera that supports the flexibility of PC-based machine vision systems, and is the first Matrox product of its kind to feature hardware for image sensing as well as a software application programming interface for image analysis. Matrox Iris P-Series is fully programmable and can be customized by OEM and integrators for vertical markets such as automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical, robotics, surveillance and traffic control. Matrox Iris P-Series is powered by an Ultra Low Power Celeron, an embedded Intel architecture processor. It runs the Windows CE.NET real-time operating system, and is programmed using a version of Microsoft's Visual C++. OEMs and integrators can develop their applications with the Matrox Imaging Library, the industry's ultimate toolbox for image processing solutions, and run them directly on Matrox Iris P-Series.
