Moldflow Corporation, the leading global provider of design through manufacturing solutions for the plastics injection molding industry, today announced the immediate availability of Shotscope 4.1, a critical quality monitoring and analysis system used to prevent defective parts from entering the supply chain. New features and enhancements include: Option to automatically save and recall shot profiles allows more efficient data storage and retrieval Enhanced profile displays with unlimited animated overlays to improve process analysis capabilities Improved statistical process control (SPC) options, including the ability to exclude individual data points from statistical calculations Increased levels of user security and two-token security that complies with 21 CFR Part 11 Machine-tool relationships to restrict tool scheduling to specific machines and part-machine relationships to restrict part scheduling to qualified machines Improved interface with Moldflow simulation software through Simalink improves the bidirectional flow of data between design and manufacturing departments According to Curt Norby, product line manager at Moldflow, "Both current and new customers will benefit from the improved ease-of-use, display, control and reporting functions of Shotscope 4.1. Moldflow's Design Analysis Solutions customers will also have better access to process data that can be used to further optimize part designs, mold designs or the injection molding process itself." Tom Rybicki, manufacturing director at Polymer Conversions, a Shotscope customer, comments: "This is an important upgrade for us. We'll use the new features every day. The improvements in the profile storage and display along with the production schedule improvements are features we can take advantage of."
