Great Lakes Chemical Corporation has introduced two, high-performance liquid thermal and light stabiliser blends that provide outstanding protection against light and weather degradation of polyurethane products. Lowilite UV B1260 and Lowilite UV B1211 offer effective protection to polyurethane applications that suffer from colour degradation due to extended exposure to heat and light. The Lowilite liquid stabiliser blends have demonstrated particular efficiency in polyurethane, integral skin foam applications used for automotive components including door trims, instrument panels, steering wheels, headrests, armrests, and window sealants, as well as a variety of other applications such as shoe soles. The low viscosity liquid properties of Lowilite UV B1260 and Lowilite UV B1211 make the easy to pump, miscible blends an excellent choice for use with common polyolefins in polyurethane applications. Both Lowilite blends are also suitable for use in light stable colour pastes. Lowilite UV B1260 is recommended for applications with standard low fogging and thermal stability requirements, and it is especially suited for use where superior UV protection is required, such as in outdoor integral skin applications. Lowilite UV B1211 is particularly effective for interior automotive applications due to its very low fogging properties, excellent thermal protection, and good UV performance.
