SELF-LUBRICATING ERTALYTE TX THERMOPLASTIC POLYESTER HAS GREATER WEAR RESISTANCE HAN ACETAL OR NYLON
01 July 2001 - Quadrant EPP

Ertalyte TX rod for machining high-wear-resistant parts is an unreinforced semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester that has a solid lubricant filler. The material has excellent performance in both high-pressure and high-velocity conditions, and is ideally suited for applications involving soft metal and plastic mating surfaces.

Key properties of Ertalyte TX, which is made by Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products, are its high strength and stiffness, high wear-resistance, very good dimensional stability, high creep resistance and very good chemical resistance. This combination of properties make it an ideal material for machining bushings and bearings that require no startup or running lubrication.

Bushings for off-raod equipment are made from Ertalyte TX.

Ertalyte TX has FDA and USDA compliance and is ideal for applications in food packaging and processing equipment.

Ertalyte TX stock shapes are made using proprietary resins produced by Quadrant. Quadrant's Ertalyte TX shapes offer dimensional stability, wear resistance, and low-friction characteristics superior to those properties of competitive filled polyethylene terephthalate polymers.

About: Quadrant EPP
Quadrant, a Swiss-based public company, is a global leader in high-performance polymer materials and thermoplastic
composites which are superior in performance over metals and other materials. With 1300 employees at 27 specialised
locations worldwide, the Quadrant Group generates annual net sales of over CHF 400 million.

Quadrant develops, manufactures and distributes engineering plastics shapes – rods, bars, plates, sheets, tubes – and machined parts made of PBI, PAI, PEEK, PPS, PTFE, PEI, PPSU, PSU, PC, PET, POM, PA.
Quadrant also produces Symalit fluoroplastics (PVDF, ECTFE, ETFE, FEB, MFA, PFA), injection moulded components and cable protection conduits. Our plastic composites are produced from polypropylene matrices and glass or natural fibres and include glass mat thermoplastics (GMT, GMTex) and light weight reinforced thermoplastics (SymaLITE).
