NEW KETRON PEEK-GF30 BLUE TO MEET THE INCREASING REQUIREMENTS

Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products (former Erta and Polypenco) has developed a new KETRON PEEK-GF30 blue to meet the increasing requirements of the medical industry for repeated sterilisation and more frequent cleaning of medical devices and design flexibility.

Quadrant EPP's KETRON PEEK-GF30 has set a new standard of machined parts performance in a wide variety of high performance end-use applications where a combination of outstanding mechanical and chemical properties at high temperatures is required. Proven commercial applications include instrument handles and grips for sterilisable surgical and dental equipment.

KETRON PEEK-GF30 made by Quadrant EPP exhibits a unique combination of chemical and stress cracking resistance at elevated temperatures and long-term high mechanical strength. It is resistant to all standard sterilisation techniques, high-energy radiation (gamma- and X-rays) and resistant to a wide range of chemicals including aggressive cleaning solutions and disinfectants. The material has higher strength and stiffness, impact and wear resistance compared to previously used thermoset material. KETRON PEEK-GF30 does not degrade even after more than 250 sterilisation cycles, extending service life of medical components. KETRON PEEK-GF30 has very good dimensional stability and inherent suitability for close tolerance machining, leading to high quality, precision parts.

The colouring possibilities of KETRON PEEK-GF30 add design flexibility and aesthetic appeal to medical components. The material's wide colour range provides even greater opportunities for product differentiation.
