ROHM AND HAAS COMPANY HAS INTRODUCED A NEW AND UNIQUE ACRYLIC EMULSION
Rohm and Haas Company has introduced a new and unique acrylic emulsion, Rhoplex Fastrack XSR resin, to its line of waterborne resins for the traffic marking industry. Traffic paints based on this new resin can be applied at cooler temperatures, extending the striping season for contractors and DOTs. Now, cool Spring and Fall days will not halt critical striping operations. The result is greater highway safety due to freshly painted strips and greater productivity from striping crews. The letters X-S-R hold the key to remembering the innovation behind the new resin, with X for X-tended, S for Seasonal, and R for Range. In addition to the wider window of application temperature, Rhoplex Fastrack XSR resin provides good durability and dry time on the road. Reliance on solvent-based paint for cooler temperature application is no longer necessary. Additionally, good glass bead adhesion at marginal application temperature provides increased productivity for the applicator and improved safety for the public. Traffic paints based on Rhoplex Fastrack XSR resin also offer good adhesion to oily surfaces and to crack seal material.
