NEW CONSTRUCTION OF THE ROHM AND HAAS COMPANY SPONSORED INNOVATIONS HOME GROUND BREAKING

New construction of the Rohm and Haas Company sponsored Innovations Home in partnership with Habitat for Humanity will begin following the ground breaking ceremony on Wed., April 20 at 9:45 a.m. onsite at 19th and Monument Street in N. Philadelphia. A walking tour in the immediate surrounding neighborhood will commence at approximately 11:00 a.m. from the ground breaking site following the ceremony.

The Innovations Home integrates construction materials being donated by Rohm and Haas and its building and construction customers that reflect the technology used in developing cost-effective, durable, and environmentally-friendly products including windows, walls, paint, plumbing, as well as, other products being used for the construction of the home.

Rohm and Haas participates in many Habitat projects as a part of its longstanding Responsible Neighbor Community Programs. However, this is the first time the company is supplying building and construction materials across business units for a home. The expected completion date for the home is December 2005 at which time a dedication ceremony will take place to welcome the new homeowners.

Rohm and Haas' Responsible Neighbor Community Programs work to advance the economic, social and environmental quality of life in the communities where it operates and where employees live through giving, volunteerism and community dialogue. It also promotes science, technology and mathematics education; environmental and safety concerns.
