ROHM & HAAS COMPANY HAS ANNOUNCED LATEST ADDITIONS TO THEIR ADCOTE LINE OF SOLVENT-BASED ADHESIVES

Rohm and Haas Company has announced the latest additions to their Adcote line of solvent-based adhesives for packaging lami-nations.

As part of the company's 'Total Packaging Solutions' offering for packaging manufacturers and converters, new Adcote 812 and Adcote 577 laminating adhesives are designed to be distinctively different in comparison to traditional solvent-based adhesives.

Adcote 812 laminating adhesive is FDA-compliant for high-temperature appli-cations, including retort, and can be used on existing equipment. It also provides for attractive economics versus traditional aliphatic isocyanate retort chemistries. "In retort packaging applications, the high running solids of new Adcote 812 adhesive make it very easy to apply, and the product also demonstrates excellent adhesion to a broad range of substrates," says Bill Magee, North American marketing manager for Rohm and Haas Packaging and Converting Adhesives. Also ready for introduction is the company's new Adcote 577 laminating adhesive. Adcote 577 adhesive is one of a handful of adhesives that resists aggressive foods like flavored coffees. It can also be used for the outside layer of retortable structures to laminate polyester to foil, or nylon to foil.
