NEW VISHAY 093 PMG-SI ALUMINUM CAPACITORS ACHIEVE 2,000 HOURS RATED USEFUL LIFETIME
Vishay Intertechnology today announced the release of a new series of aluminum electrolytic capacitors with a capacitance range from 68 µF to 820 µF for mains-side filter-buffer applications. The capacitors have ± 20 % tolerance and a 2,000 hours useful lifetime rating at +85 °C. The Vishay BCcomponents 093 PMG-SI family of capacitors is available in 400-V, 420-V, and 450-V voltage ratings, with an operating temperature range of -25 °C to +85 °C. The capacitors are ideal for use in many consumer, commercial, and industrial applications. A wide range of case sizes, from 22 mm to 35 mm in diameter and 25 mm to 50 mm in length, is available, allowing designers to minimize footprint and maximize longevity under a variety of space constraints. Applications include use on the high-voltage side of switchmode power supplies for equipment such as set-top boxes for digital and satellite TV, motor controls for washing machines and refrigerator compressors, uninterruptible power supplies for banking, networking, and telecom, and a variety of other end products including consumer welding equipment. The new capacitors are manufactured by Vishay in China to high quality standards, combining a competitive price with high performance, reliability, and longevity. Support for the 093 PMG-SI series is also managed from Vishay offices in Europe, combining the benefits of offshore cost savings with local technical support for engineers in Europe. Vishay's 093 PMG-SI capacitors are among a wide range of components provided by Vishay for complete mains-side design in many applications. These components include X2 film capacitors, Y1 ceramic disc capacitors, power supply controllers, high-power resistors, inrush-limiting PTC thermistors, and voltage-dependent resistors.
