Vishay Intertechnology, Inc today announced the CDHV, a surface-mount chip resistor divider with a small size profile that achieves outstanding ratio stability under high voltages. The new resistor divider is designed for use in high-voltage power supplies, power switching equipment, and inverter controls. Manufactured with an alumina substrate, the CDHV is capable of handling voltages up to 3 kV, with a voltage coefficient down to 5 ppm/V. It provides resistance values of 1 megohm to 20 gigohms that are available in a broad range of standard and custom resistance ratios from 10:1 to 500:1, with outstanding ratio stability of <0.03 % at full power and 70 °C at 2,000 hours. Absolute resistance tolerance options range from ±20 % down to ±1 %, with ratio tolerance options to 1 %. Its temperature coefficient of resistance is available to ±100 ppm/°C over a –55 °C to +150 °C operating range. The CDHV is housed in a small 2512 case and has a choice of top-only and wraparound terminations. Dimensions of the top-only resistor divider are 0.240 in. by 0.126 in. [6.10 mm by 3.20 mm] with a profile of 0.025 in. [0.635 mm]. The wraparound version has a slightly increased length of 0.250 in. [6.35 mm]. Both versions are available in tape-and-reel packaging.
