PETROBRAS DISTRIBUIDORA has awarded ABB, the power and automation technology group, an order for IndustrialIT electrical systems and ControlIT terminal, management automation and control. The order includes loading base control, ControlIT AC 800M controllers, process portal, basic and detailed design, installation, integration, training, service and maintenance. The ABB system allows PETROBRAS to have access to control optimization information, real-time supervisory data, online orders as well as scheduling and programming figures for the terminals. "ABB's ability to provide a complete terminal automation solution was an important consideration in this award along with ABB's customer service and pricing solutions," said Raul Delgado, Project Manager for PETROBRAS DISTRIBUIDORA. "PETROBRAS expects to achieve better optimization in fuel loading which will speed production up and allow us the ability to integrate all terminals in Brazil." The project is scheduled for completion in ten months and includes services in ten specific PETROBRAS sites around the country.
