AKZO NOBEL SIGNS GLOBAL AGREEMENT WITH DAIHATSU

| Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes has signed a new supply agreement with Daihatsu Motor Company Ltd to appoint Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes as an approved paint supplier. |
The agreement to appoint Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes as an approved paint supplier was signed on 15 October 2002 date by Mr K Inoguchi, General Manager Overseas Service Division Daihatsu Motor Co Ltd, and Cor de Grauw, General Manager Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes. Under this agreement the entire range of Sikkens refinish paint products and technical services are approved for use in Daihatsu dealerships and Daihatsu approved bodyshops worldwide. Further agreements to determine local terms and conditions in specific countries will now follow. Daihatsu selected Akzo Nobel as a result of its requirement to establish a relationship with an experienced supplier of repair paint to enhance its dealers’ paint refinish and body repair capabilities. This is achieved through the use of Akzo Nobel’s innovative paint systems and dedicated services designed to increase bodyshop profitability. Cor de Grauw, General Manager Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes commented: “This new agreement is an official endorsement of the trust Daihatsu has in our paint products and services. We are delighted to be selected as a paint partner and look forward to working with Daihatsu and its dealers to help further improve the bodyshop network.” Mr K Inoguchi stated that he “would like both companies to co-operate closer in the local market to achieve high quality repair of Daihatsu cars.”
