The Alberta Research Council Inc. 2005 Annual Report highlights powerful solutions delivered to customers and partners of the applied R&D organization. "This year, as we celebrate the province's 100th anniversary, we are reminded of the strong track record for innovation and technological breakthroughs ARC has achieved," says LeRoy Johnson, Chair of the ARC Board of Directors. Achievements from the 2004-05 fiscal year include: $37 million in R&D contract services for the private sector and other external customers $4 million received in royalties, licensing fees, and product sales from the commercialization of technology 900 customers and partners served Projects include developing wood building products, adding value to the agriculture and forestry industry, partnering with the life sciences industry, and ensuring a secure and sustainable energy supply for Alberta ARC President and CEO John McDougall says, "We will continue to contribute to Alberta's economy and the quality of life for Albertans." He added, "We are positioned to create further impact for the 2005-06 fiscal year. We have a strong executive team in place, rigorous business processes, and dedicated employees focused on the needs of our customers and partners." Its integrated, multi-disciplinary teams help its customers and partners take technologies from the laboratory to the field, strengthening their competitiveness and sustainability.
