ALCAN LAUNCHES ITS SPANISH PHARMACEUTICAL PACKAGING CENTER

Alcan Inc. announces the expansion of its Packaging network in Spain through a new production centre dedicated to Pharmaceutical Packaging at its Alcan Packaging Alzira plant, located near Valencia, The center will specialise in printing flexible packaging materials.

"The production activity at Alcan Packaging Alzira complements our Global Pharmaceutical production network and allows us to provide integrated packaging solutions to the entire industry," says Christel Bories, President and Chief Executive Officer, Alcan Packaging. "Through this investment, Alcan Packaging will offer a local supply of printed packaging material to its Spanish, Portuguese and locally-based multinational customers," she added.

Among its 180 operating facilities world-wide, Alcan Packaging has nearly 90 sites in Europe which last year received US$204 million in investments in order to adapt and leverage their technological capabilities.
