HUSKY ANNOUNCES NEW FACILITY IN LUXEMBOURG

Husky Injection Molding Systems has announced plans to build a new PET mould facility on its Luxembourg manufacturing campus. The new facility is scheduled to open in spring 2006.

“We need dedicated facilities and teams to support continued growth in both our mould and hot runner businesses,” said David Cook, President, Husky Europe. “Right now these businesses are combined in one facility.

“This investment will increase capacity in both moulds and hot runners and allow us to better serve customers with faster delivery times.”

The new plant will be dedicated to mould insert production, assembly and testing. The existing operation will be optimised to focus on hot runners and mould bases, including those for the new PET mould operation. Through fiscal 2006, the company anticipates investing Euro 46 million (approximately US $57 million) in the facility and production equipment. Once fully operational, the company expects the move will create approximately 80 full-time positions.
