ORDERS ARE BRISK FOR 144-CAVITY MICROPITCH MOULD

Six months after Husky’s 144-cavity mould became the first in the world to enter pre-form production, leading manufacturers have endorsed the new moulds by steadily placing orders. “We are very pleased that the first 144-cavity systems have already proven themselves to an extent that many of our customers are placing repeat orders,” says Randy Yakimishyn, General Manager, Bolton Molds.

To date, Husky has received orders for more than 30 of the moulds with applications ranging from 12.4 to 27.8 grams and cycles as fast as 9.5 seconds. More than half of the orders have included G600PET machines. The moulds incorporate Husky’s Micropitch stack design, which makes it possible to fit 144 cavities in a machine that could previously accommodate a maximum of 96. The result is a gain in output of close to 50%. The 144-cavity mould is also the first to incorporate Husky’s new UltraPET hot runner technology. The hot runners feature a leak-proof design, a reduction in PET dust generation and a more even thermal profile throughout the system. In addition, UltraPET hot runners are expected to extend typical maintenance intervals to as much as two years.

There are a number of proven options available with Husky’s Micropitch moulds to further improve outputs. They include:
• 3-position take-off plate
• CoolJet technology
• Optical part detection
