GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR PET SYSTEMS

Husky’s Performance Audit and Optimisation program is an effective way to measure system performance and identify and implement opportunities for improvements.

PET system set up and condition have a significant impact on performance. For the best results, system process settings, machine calibrations, mould conditions, and general alignment must be properly adjusted, tuned and maintained. Systems in good condition yield increased productivity and improved part quality which can benefit the customer’s bottom line.

“Our programs consist of an initial detailed examination of the moulding systems to highlight process deficiencies, expose system limitations, and identify areas for improvement,” says Rick Unterlander, Husky’s Process Optimisation Manager. “We then put together a plan to implement the opportunities for optimisation identified in the examination. Our factory-wide programs have typically resulted in average cycle time improvements of 10%, with a marked improvement in part quality and an increase in uptime efficiency,” he says.

Customised programs are designed for individual moulding systems or complete factories. We provide audit information in a detailed report that outlines possibilities for improved performance. Then, we prepare an implementation strategy to capitalize on the benefits of optimisation.

Analyse extrusion and injection process parameters
Examine pre-form quality
Breakdown system sequencing, timing, and efficient motion utilization
Investigate limitations that may impact cycle time reduction
Estimate optimal cycle times for each pre-form type and system configuration
Review applicable performance enhancing retrofits
Summary of overall mould condition
Examine resin dryer, including analysis of resin moisture content
Review auxiliary equipment performance
Machine audit
Review service and safety bulletin compliance
Evaluate hydraulic components and performance, including oil analysis
Review electrical circuitry and controls
Evaluate condition of mechanical components
Review system calibrations and tuning parameters
