RTP COMPANY INTRODUCES PERMASTAT PLUS WITH ADVANCED ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES
28 July 2006 - RTP Company

RTP Company announces the introduction of PermaStat PLUS with improved electrical properties compared to the company's successful line of PermaStat permanently anti-static compounds. PermaStat PLUS compounds are ideal for applications with strict conductive requirements, such as those requiring certification to ATEX Directive (94/9/EC).

"The further development of PermaStat PLUS is part of RTP Company's continuing effort to expand our technology and offer customers new options to meet and exceed strict performance guidelines, such as those established by ATEX (94/9/EC)," said Paul Killian, RTP Company Market Manager.

PermaStat PLUS has a consistent surface resistance of 107 to 108 ohms and has a static decay of less than 0.5 seconds. This static dissipative performance makes Permastat PLUS ideal for ATEX applications that need materials with surface resistance of <109 ohms. In addition, to be ATEX compliant, plastic parts in equipment and protective systems must meet UV stability, temperature resistance, impact properties, chemical resistance, and flammability performance criteria. These criteria are outlined by the IEC 60079 standard.
