LLOYD INSTRUMENTS HAS INTRODUCED A PAIR OF HEAVY DUTY SPLIT BOLLARD GRIPS
29 July 2006 - Lloyd Instruments
| Lloyd Instruments has introduced a pair of heavy duty split bollard grips designed specifically for performing tensile tests on webbing, belts, lashings, harnesses and heavy duty textiles. Manufactured from stainless steel, these grips have a capacity of 50 kN. They have a smooth, highly polished surface finish to prevent any stress build up and damage being introduced to the sample, which might otherwise affect the test results. |
Each grip has two split bollards, one of which is fixed, while the other allows the sample to be fitted. The sample is looped around both split bollards of each grip, securing the end between the two bollards. As the testing machine is driven upwards, the tensioning of the sample causes the moving bollard to slide up and firmly lock the end of the sample in place to enable testing to begin. The grip can be used for tensile testing of a wide variety of webbing materials. These include webbing used in car seat belts, safety harnesses, slings, cargo/freight restraints and industrial webbing. Webbing used in sports applications, such as parachuting, yachting, climbing and textiles can also be tested.
