LFPLUS MATERIALS TESTER GETS STAR BILLING

Seven LFPlus single column universal testing machines take pride of place on materials testing specialist, Lloyd Instruments, to illustrate the impressive range of applications that can be covered by this versatile instrument. Designed for materials testing and force measurement applications up to 1 kN (225 lbf), this high performance machine provides extremely cost-effective materials testing and can be used to test raw materials, plastic components and finished products simply by changing the grip or fixture. Tests that can be carried out include tensile, compression, tear, peel, friction and flexure testing.

With a deep 170 mm (6.9 in) throat and generous working area, larger sized samples can be readily be accommodated. Test speeds range from 0.05 to 1270 mm/min (accuracy greater than 0.2%), making the instrument ideally suited to difficult applications such as creep tests or constant load holding tests. Although completely self-contained, control of the LFPlus series can be automated using the company’s internationally acclaimed NEXYGENMT data analysis and control software.

Extended column models are available for testing high elongation materials, and machines can be mounted above an optional compression cage to accommodate larger samples.

Other products on display are the powerful LR10KPlus twin column universal testing machine and the Davenport MFI-10 Melt Flow Indexer for automated melt flow and melt volume rate polymer testing.

The LR10KPlus has a 10kN force capacity for mid range testing applications. The twin column frame provides a highly stable platform to test a wide range of materials under differing environmental conditions. Advanced electronics make this machine extremely easy to use through a ‘Plug-and-Play‘ facility and automatic accessory recognition.
