TESTING SOLUTIONS ON DISPLAY IN PARIS
21 October 2003 - Lloyd Instruments

Lloyd Instruments, one of the world’s leading materials testing specialists, is unveiling a range of test solutions at Exposition de Physique (stand 56, aisle M, hall 7/1) in Paris. The company's universal testing machines, NEXYGEN MT machine control software and CHATILLON force measurement instruments are used to test different industry materials, an exciting display of which is being demonstrated at the show.

Materials testing equipment must be accurate, flexible and easy to use whether in materials research, product testing, training, education, or Quality Control. The company has forged a reputation on the back of a Plus range of universal testing machines, where a quick change of grip, fixture or loadcell completely alters functionality of the same system. This extends versatility to a wider group of users and reduces costs without compromising on productivity.

The LFPlus is an affordable, high performance testing machine designed for routine low force measurements up to 1kN (225lbf). A modular design allows various options to be chosen in the final system. XLC Series loadcells or CHATILLON digital force gauges are automatically recognised as the load measurement device, and test speeds run from 0.05 to 1270mm/min (accurate to more than 1% at full load). Unlike other machines currently available, the LFPlus has a generous working area and a deep 170 mm (6.9 in) throat to accommodate larger than average sized samples. Greater control also comes from NEXYGEN FM, an easy to use data analysis software package for entry level needs.

Also in the Plus range, the LRXPlus is a more powerful 5kN single column test machine featuring the same "plug-and-play" capability for easy set-ups. Other features include ten user defined programs, a 32-bit flash upgradeable processor for instant electronic upgrading, easy access multi-lingual support, a self diagnostic capability, and full NEXYGEN MT software support.

NEXYGEN MT is Lloyd Instruments' premier software control package with a vast library of userselectable test set-ups. Key aspects of the latest upgrade include strict multilevel security and audit trails for total traceability of data and users; video capture and playback of 'live' tests, expanded help desk, and integrated drivers for seamless control of test machines in a LabVIEW industry platform.

The CHATILLON MT Series test stands provide a stable platform for an extensive range of digital and analogue force gauges. Built on a modular design for user configuration, this stand also features a deep 150mm (6 inch) throat and spacious working area to test larger than average sized samples.

User options include multiple travel lengths, lever or handwheel controls, different mountings, and grips and fixtures for various applications. Also new to the CHATILLON range are the LG and DG Series mechanical gauges with capacities up to 2.2kN (500lbf) which combine improved accuracy and economy.

In terms of company operations, on July 31, 2003, Lloyd Instruments successfully passed its Transition Audit from ISO 9000:1994 to ISO 9001:2000 for complete customer assurance. This now means that the company and its quality management system is now fully accredited to the new Standard, which includes TickIT accreditation for software excellence.
