Moog Inc., Industrial Controls Division, will present a working demonstration of precise electric and hydraulic motion control systems for metal forming applications at Booth #21081, Fabtech International 2001, Chicago, November 11-14, 2001.

This working demonstration, representing various vertical presses in the metal forming industry, was created exclusively for Fabtech International 200 by Moog’s advanced systems engineering team. This one-of-a-kind unit shows electric and hydraulic actuation and how both can be combined to control critical functions of the press. Real-time data on the performance will be plotted for energy consumption, position control and accuracy, and repeatability.

One significant industry trend in the metal forming industry is the move to electric as well as hydraulic motion control solutions. "Moog specializes in developing unique electric and hydraulic systems that deliver performance excellence and value," commented Dave Geiger, who heads up a team of experienced engineers that work directly with customers to implement the latest Moog technology.

Moog products featured in its demonstration will include the following:

Custom electric actuator system
Custom hydraulic actuator system
Direct Drive Servo-Proportional Valve
Integrated hydraulic manifold system for vertical presses
Brushless servomotor and servodrive
RKP pump
Hydraulic Power Unit
M2000 Controller
The overall theme of Moog’s exhibit, "Visionary Thinking for Systems Solutions," highlights the company’s expertise in developing and implementing motion control systems that offer high precision, lower system costs, and energy savings for OEMs.

At Fabtech International 2001, Moog will be also be featuring its latest generation servovalves with on-board communications, a new line of RKP pumps, the new high performance servopump, an expanded line of servomotors and servodrives, and special control solutions such as the intelligent manifold system.
