Moldflow Corporation, the leading global provider of design through manufacturing solutions for the plastics injection molding industry, announces two new hardware releases which offer better performance, value and conformity to international ecological standards for injection molders who need hotrunner control, and process setup, monitoring and optimization.

Altanium X and XE
This next generation of Hot Runner Process Controls provides increased simplicity, higher zone configurations and enhanced functionality all on a platform that provides conformity with the EU Hazardous Substances Free Directive.

The Altanium X series contains all of the features and functionality of currently shipping systems in a smaller, more compact footprint. These features include standard 15 amp per zone capacity, full thermocouple isolation, mold diagnostics, 2-leg switching and fuses for each leg, auto tune algorithms, thermocouple rewiring and slaving capability.

The Altanium XE series adds extended capabilities including, 0.1 degree temperature control resolution, expanded mold error detection, on-screen board diagnostics, and a longer, 3 year warranty.

The Altanium X and XE are fully integrated control systems. Either can be configured using Moldflow’s patented MoldMount technology which eliminates power and thermocouple connection cable to and from the mold. This configuration has saved customers many hours of downtime and many thousands of dollars.

ModDAQ
Moldflow also released the first stage of a next generation of Modular Data Acquisition Devices. ModDAQ will be used in conjunction with Shotscope, MPX and Altanium product offerings from Moldflow. The first release is the Model 8020 which is designed for molders who require a lower channel count and a significantly lower price point than its predecessor, the A9800 Machine Interface Unit.

ModDAQ is a modular Data Acquisition System which allows users to purchase only the number and type of channels needed for a specific application. Users can build a Shotscope system at an overall lower cost, yet still expand the system as their needs grow.
