Moldflow CAD Doctor is a powerful tool for checking, correcting, healing and simplifying solid models imported from popular 3D CAD systems in preparation for analysis using MPI and MPA software. New in version 2.0 is an interface to MDL to facilitate import of native CAD data in CATIA V5, Parasolid, Pro/ENGINEER, SolidWorks and STEP formats. Moldflow Corporation, the leading global provider of design through manufacturing solutions for the plastics injection molding industry, today announced the immediate availability of two enhanced design analysis solutions products, Moldflow CAD Doctor 2.0 and Moldflow Design Link 5.2. A new interface between these two products provides users with access to a wider array of native CAD data formats for generating optimized models for predictive analysis applications such as the Moldflow Plastics Insight and Moldflow Plastics Advisers solutions. MDL allows the direct import of solid geometry data from the world’s leading CAD systems into the MPI and MPA solutions. Along with the interface to Moldflow CAD Doctor 2.0, other enhancements in MDL 5.2 include updated interfaces to support the latest releases of CAD systems, including: MDL/Parasolid version has been updated to support part models created in versions up to and including Parasolid version 17.0 and SolidWorks 2006. MDL/CATIA V5 version has been updated to support part models created in versions up to and including CATIA V5R15 (Release 15 SP0).
