DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers has announced a price increase of EUR 0.15/kg for its Elvax ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, speciality and non-speciality, effective 1 December 2004. The reasons for this price increase are a dramatic increase in raw material costs, driven by high crude oil and natural gas prices, as well as shortages in specific raw materials. In addition, distribution and utility costs have escalated rapidly. By implementing this price increase, DuPont is supporting the long term financial health of its business, the ability to re-invest and to continue to serve its customers.
