SF-MOULD FOR EFFICIENT PRODUCTION OF DVD AND CD-R FORMATS
20 April 2004 - Axxicon Mould Technology

Following the success of the Axxicon ST-mould in 2002, Axxicon Moulds Eindhoven is to introduce the SF-mould for the efficient production of the DVD formats as well as CD-R.

In addition to the key mechanical features of the ST-mould, in the new SF-mould has the stamper on the fixed side of the mould. This positioning delivers a number of additional benefits, including simplified handling for Systems Integrators and a wider choice of suitable injection moulding machines.
As with the ST-mould, Axxicon’s SF-mould offers the System Integrator the potential to achieve low cycle times for moulding, while maintaining a good operating window in order to control (for example) the required dishing values.

The SF-mould offers a range of mechanical features such as a mould guiding system and an ejector sleeve. The open mould guiding system (Axxicon’s Spring Centering System®) ensures that the mould halves are always perfectly centered during the entire moulding process, resulting in improved moulding accuracy. In addition, the SF-mould comes with a mechanical ejector sleeve to further improve productivity.
