HONEYWELL DELIVERS POWERFUL ZONEPRO MODULATING DIGITAL THERMOSTATS
10 July 2006 - Honeywell Specialty Materials

Honeywell today introduced ZonePRO modulating digital thermostats that are easy to install, easy to program, and a powerful and cost-effective alternative to networked zoning in commercial applications.

"Deploying ZonePRO means contractors can finally have a cost-effective alternative to more expensive networked zoning systems for situations that demand robust standalone modulating control," said Dan Sullivan, Honeywell senior product manager. "Contractors who have previewed ZonePRO also have raved about this new thermostat’s sleek, attractive design and just how easy it is to install."

ZonePRO is unique in that it can actually be used in any commercial application that requires floating or 2-10V analog control of an actuator. This type of thermostat is typically used in pressure-dependent variable air volume applications, such as large office buildings with many zones, or even airport terminals. ZonePRO thermostats can also be used in hydronic systems and applied to any floating actuator or 2-10V analog controlled actuator. There are four models in the ZonePRO family of thermostats, two for floating control and two for analog control.

The ZonePRO has additional analog and triac outputs which allow contractors to control several types of applications including zone, reheat applications, and air handler applications.

ZonePRO can also help building owners significantly decrease their energy costs. ZonePRO includes the following features:

Night setback input, which will automatically set the ZonePRO to an energy-saving set point at night.
Range stop temperature limits, which enables the user to set a maximum heating and minimum cooling set point, saving energy.
Timed occupancy override, which allows a building occupant to bring the space to a comfortable temperature, saving energy
Output position graph, which helps the installer know that the actuator is working correctly.

"With the new ZonePRO family, we are adding to our commercial zoning portfolio," said Sullivan. "Our RapidZone solution has been very popular with contractors who want to quickly and easily configure communicating, networked commercial zoning systems. With ZonePRO, we now we have a great stand alone commercial zoning system for end-users who are more price sensitive. When it comes to commercial zoning, thermostats, controllers, actuators, sensors, we have all the bases covered for contractors to create the right solution for the end-user."
