Honeywell today announced the release of a new Honeywell MC Toolkit Configurator, which allows users to configure both Digitally Enhanced and HART field instruments with a single compact handheld device. Designed for ease-of-use and increased productivity, the MC Toolkit lets users configure, monitor, diagnose and manage smart devices from Honeywell and other suppliers. The MC Toolkit simplifies configuration by providing easy access to all configuration database parameters using state-of-the-art Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system technology. The intuitive graphical interface permits easy configuration of field devices without the need for prior training, user manuals or previous experience. Each MC Toolkit is equipped with all registered HART Device Description files and may be supplemented with non-published DD files, so any HART device can be configured. New DD files are easily installed using ActiveSync software and the provided USB cable, avoiding obsolescence issues when vendors publish new files. The MC Toolkit software configures Honeywell DE and HART devices, while the SDC 625 software configures non-Honeywell HART devices. The combination of these two software applications enables true Universal configuration of HART devices. The MC Toolkit Configurator features many benefits including: Operates on an open Pocket PC platform Provides self-diagnostic as well as full device diagnostic support to aid in troubleshooting and maintenance Displays process variables for use in troubleshooting, calibration, or bench setup Universal HART configuration Approved for use in Hazardous Areas |
