The Austin Technology Incubator, a program of the IC2 Institute at The University of Texas at Austin, has created a networking group for executives of its current and former member companies. The ATI Alumni Network offers current and former executives of ATI companies and the student interns who worked with them the opportunity to expand and cultivate their network of business relationships and to mentor future generations of entrepreneurs.
The Austin Technology Incubator, a program of the IC2 Institute at The University of Texas at Austin, has created a networking group for executives of its current and former member companies.The ATI Alumni Network offers current and former executives of ATI companies and the student interns who worked with them the opportunity to expand and cultivate their network of business relationships and to mentor future generations of entrepreneurs. ATI has worked to make early stage technology companies successful since 1989. “ATI alumni have founded more than 150 companies that have collectively raised nearly three-quarters of a billion dollars in investor capital, produced four successful initial public offerings and dozens of major acquisitions, and created thousands of jobs for Central Texas,” said Isaac Barchas, executive director of ATI. “Together, these people are a key component of our high tech business ecosystem. The ATI Alumni Network creates a forum where they can connect with each other and provide mentoring support to current and future ATI entrepreneurs.” The ATI Alumni Network includes executives from Metrowerks (now part of Freescale,) Encore Medical, Molecular Imprints, Evolutionary Technologies, CEDRA and many other companies that got their starts as ATI members, as well as current and former student interns. The network officially started on June 14 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Austin and more than 50 ATI alumni attended. Jean Belanger, founder of ATI-incubated software tools company Metrowerks, spoke about the value that ATI provided his company during its rapid global expansion. Manoj Saxena, founder of ATI-incubated companies Exterprise and Webify, spoke about the obligation of members of the ATI Alumni Network to give back to the community through mentorship and engagement. |
