Great Lakes Chemical Corp is increasing the list prices in all regions for calcium bromide, zinc bromide/calcium bromide solution, and sodium bromide for shipments beginning 1 January 2005, or as contracts allow. The new list prices per pound for these products (in bulk) ex-works will be: *calcium bromide - US$0.27/lb (increase of 17%); *zinc bromide/calcium bromide solution - US$0.48/lb (increase of 7%); and *sodium bromide - US$0.25/lb (increase of 14%); 'The new pricing is because of the continued inflation of key raw materials, energy, and logistics costs during a period of high bromine demand and tight supply,' stated Scott Baxter, Global Business Manager, Clear Brine Fluids. 'The price increases are necessary in order to maintain our position as a reliable supplier of quality brominated clear brine fluids and to achieve re-investment economics.'
