Great Lakes Chemical Corp is increasing the prices worldwide for a range of its polymer stabilizers, effective for shipments after 1 January 2005, or where contracts allow.
Great Lakes Chemical Corp is increasing the prices worldwide for a range of its polymer stabilizers, effective for shipments after 1 January 2005, or where contracts allow.Prices will increase for Great Lakes polymer stabilizer product groups as follows:
*Anox and Alkanox main antioxidants - up to 15%;
*Anox , Alkanox and Lowinox speciality antioxidants - up to 11%;
*Lowilite hindered amine light stabilizers - up to 7%; and
*Lowilite benzophenone UV absorbers - up to 6%. The company stated that the new pricing is driven by continued increases in raw material, energy, and transportation costs.

'These price increases will ensure the long-term supply viability of our products, allowing continued investment in innovation and service, new capacity, and extended product lines.' Great Lakes antioxidants provide both processing and long-term heat stability to an extensive range of polymers. UV absorbers and hindered amine light stabilizers prevent polymer degradation caused by UV radiation from sunlight and other sources. Through its Polymer Additives division, Great Lakes offers a full line of UV stabilizers, antioxidants, nucleating agents and clarifiers, additive blends, and optical monomers, as well as a leading line of flame retardants that include bromine-based, phosphorus-based, and antimony-based flame retardants and other synergists.
