| Great Lakes Chemical Corp has announced that its BioLab Water Additives division will increase prices for its industrial water additives products on a global basis.

Great Lakes Chemical Corp has announced that its BioLab Water Additives division will increase prices for its industrial water additives products on a global basis.
Prices will increase 6-9% on selected lines of industrial water treatment additives, effective 1 January 2005, or as contracts permit. These products include Belclene, Belsperse, Belcor, Bellasol, Belgard and Flocon polymeric and phosphonate anti-scalants and corrosion inhibitors. At the same time, prices for bromine-based biocide products will increase by 8-12% for BromiCide and by 6-8 cents per pound for LiquiBrom. The new pricing is necessary because of the continued, unprecedented increases in costs of key raw materials and energy products, and availability concerns for certain key feed stocks due to exceptional global demand. Based in Lawrenceville, Georgia, BioLab supplies water treatment products for recreational and industrial applications on a global basis and speciality household consumer products in the US BioLab is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Great Lakes Chemical Corp.
