ASHLAND INCREASES PRICE OF RESINS AND LOW PROFILE ADDITIVES
29 December 2004 - Ashland Specialty Chemical Company

Ashland Composite Polymers, a business group within Ashland Specialty Chemical, is increasing the price of its vinyl ester resins by 10 cents per pound and unsaturated polyester resins, gel coats and low profile additives by 6 cents per pound for North American customers.

Ashland Composite Polymers, a business group within Ashland Specialty Chemical, is increasing the price of its vinyl ester resins by 10 cents per pound and unsaturated polyester resins, gel coats and low profile additives by 6 cents per pound for North American customers.

This adjustment, which affects both list and off-list pricing, will come into effect on and after 1 January 2005, and is in addition to all previously announced increases.

Demand for key raw materials including glycols, epoxies and maleic anhydride, remains the critical factor in market pricing. While demand has escalated, production of these materials has remained stable, resulting in limited supplies and soaring prices.
