ASHLAND UPDATES FORMULA TO COMPLY WITH NEW EU LAW

Drew Marine, a business group within Ashland Specialty Chemical, announces its compliance with Directive 2003/53/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of June 18, 2003. This new amendment relates to restrictions on the production, marketing and use of certain substances, such as nonylphenol and nonylphenol ethoxylate, which are classified as hazardous. Drew Marine says that all formulas have been updated to abide by this new EU requirement. The company’s products that contain these ingredients have been reformulated to meet this new requirement which goes into effect on 17 January 2005. Drew Marine, is a leading supplier of speciality marine chemicals, water treatments, welding refrigeration and sealing products and fire fighting, safety and rescue products for the global marine industry.
