MARATHON PAC FOR LARGE WELDING WIRE USERS

For users of more than 250kg of spooled welding wire per year, ESAB has developed the Marathon Pac to lower operating costs and improve welding quality.

With conventional welding wire supply, production time is lost when spools are exchanged and every time a new spool is loaded the wire comes through the tip askew. That’s because spooled wire is, by its nature, twisted.

Wire from a Marathon Pac comes out perfectly straight. That’s because it was pre-twisted as it was being wound into the drum and so naturally un-twists as it comes out. The result is a straight wire which stays exactly in the right position during the weld, ensuring high quality welds with greatly reduced spatter.

With spools, each time the welder pulls the trigger on the torch, the entire spool has to be energized. That inertia places additional demands on the feed system, leading to more wear. With Marathon Pac only a few grams of wire are pulled from the drum, leading to the use of fewer spare parts and lower maintenance costs.

Marathon Pacs for all welding wire types are supplied in 250kg and 475kg sizes, and the ESAB Endless System in now available for continuous welding without interruption.
