Materialise is continuously looking for new ways to give their customers value added support. With that in mind they have decided to invest in an Objet Eden500VTM, the newest member of the highly successful Eden family which is based on Objet's PolyJetTM polymer technology and was introduced to the market in October 2005. PolyJet technology enables horizontal layers of just 16µ (0.0006"), fine details, and ultra-thin walls down to 0.6mm (0.024") depending on geometry. The Objet Eden500VTM has a build platform of 500x400x200mm. With the acquisition of this machine, Materialise now houses 33 RP Printers and is once again increasing their flexibility. "In last year's Wohlers Report the Materialise machine park was declared the world's largest RP capacity located at one site. This has been a stimulus to further growth," states Mr. Bart Van der Schueren, Director Materialise Industrial Services department. “Besides the giant single-piece components we can produce on our patented Mammoth machines, which have already proved to be a unique solution for car manufacturers, we are striving to offer our customers highly detailed mechanical precision components too. The new Objet Eden500VTM will assist us in adding these detailed components to our already extensive range of RP solutions." Materialise's large RP capacity also offers new possibilities for direct manufacture of small production series, all contributing to the company's focus on Personalised Manufacturing.
