LBC AND ERTISA TO CONSTRUCT A NEW TANK STORAGE TERMINAL IN ANTWERP

| LBC Antwerpen N.V., a subsidiary of the LBC Tank terminal group and ERTISA Netherlands BV, a subsidiary of the Spanish oil and energy group CEPSA have signed a memorandum of understanding to form a joint venture company with the aim to construct and operate a tank storage terminal in the port of Antwerpen. |
The new company will be named LBC-ERTISA Tank Terminal Antwerpen N.V. The first phase of the project , to be completed early 2007, will comprise of 10.000 cubic meters tank storage capacity as well as handling facilities for ERTISA products. Following its completion a second phase with additional storage capacity for other LBC customers, including facilities for the handling of rail tank cars, road tank trucks and tank containers will be constructed. Blending and drumming facilities will be added to the infrastructure in line with market demand. The terminal will be located at the site of Bayer Antwerpen Comm.V. on the right bank of the river “Schelde” in the heart of Antwerp’s petrochemical cluster. The new terminal will have deepwater access (draft 12m) to accommodate the largest tankers. Federico Molina Felix, Managing director of ERTISA S.A. on the venture: “ERTISA has been expanding its Phenol and Acetone business steadily in the recent years. Currently a third world scale plant is under construction at our Huelva site in the south of Spain. For us the terminal in Antwerp is of great strategic importance. It allows us to constantly have product available close to our major customers in Northern Europe thus reducing lead times and improving customer service.
