BOC SHOWCASES A RANGE OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES FOR POULTRY PROCESSORS
15 September 2006 - BOC Gases

Poultry processors who need world class technologies for pathogen control and destruction, freezing and chilling, process monitoring and water management services for their ready-to-eat food processing operations can look to BOC for assistance.

BOC, a single-source supplier of industrial gases and food safety technologies, will present an exciting array of technologies, products and services for RTE and other poultry industry segments at the International Poultry Exposition in Atlanta, Georgia.

Bill Baker, vice president food markets, BOC, says, "Over the past four decades, BOC has established a reputation in the food processing industry as a dependable supplier of industrial gases and related technologies. We are a responsive, innovative partner, and a leader in the development and implementation of solutions to some of the industry’s most challenging processing and food safety concerns."

"BOC’s cryogenic technologies, including impingement freezers, combo chillers, immersion freezers, spirals, tunnels and bottom injection chilling systems, reduce dehydration and line down-time, increase capacity and improve product quality," Baker said.

Intervent, BOC’s food safety technology and consulting arm, will be available to discuss its patented and USDA acknowledged ozone and ultra-violet light technologies, which are validated and industry proven to eliminate microbial activity on food and food contact surfaces, in marinade and brine chill treatments and in plant air.

"Intervent offers processors a proven, low cost technology for RTE products so they can lower their risk level," Baker said.

Representatives from EMC, BOC's St. Louis-based water services company, will also be available to explain how BOC can manage and optimize a processor’s entire water cycle, from water supply to wastewater treatment. "EMC helps poultry processors decrease their overall operating costs by reducing water and energy usage. For example, EMC can develop and implement water reuse strategies that conserve water while complying with USDA guidelines," Baker said.

BOC continues to offer a monitoring service designed to provide plant management with real time data by monitoring various spots throughout the process. By capturing and reporting on real time and historic data, plant managers can "tweak" their process real time and track trends. The advantage is better control of the state of the food product as it moves from one processing cell to another.

Food processors look to BOC for its knowledge, skill and experience in delivering reliable engineered solutions to address their atmosphere, microbe and temperature control requirements. BOC provides a range of offerings that help customers consistently deliver the highest quality food to their customers, including ozone and UV light anti-microbial systems, chilling and freezing technologies, modified atmosphere packaging, state-of-the-art food monitoring and control technologies, and water management services.
