BOC IMPROVES CO2 AVAILABILITY FOR NATURAL GAS PRODUCERS
16 September 2006 - BOC Gases
| BOC a leading supplier of gases and technology solutions to the global oil and gas industries, is increasing the amount of liquid carbon dioxide available to natural gas producers by adding a new plant in west Texas. |
The new, 200 ton per day plant, located in McCamey, Texas, began operating earlier this month. Natural gas producers use the CO2 to boost production from wells in the south Permian Basin. They inject the CO2 under high pressure into newly drilled and existing wells to fracture formations deep underground and facilitate gas flow from the reserves. The Permian basin is the largest fracturing market in the U.S. “BOC is making this investment so we can better assist our customers in securing steady sources of energy. The additional plant allows us to respond quicker to customer demand, improve customer service and increase supply reliability,” said John Miller, national manager, oil field services. Madeline Moore, vice president, sales, western region, said, “BOC has a long history of serving oil field customers. BOC has a strong network of CO2 supply, storage and distribution facilities throughout the U.S., reliably supplying customers with CO2 and nitrogen for their fracturing and enhanced oil recovery operations. We are committed to investing in the infrastructure required to meet our customers’ needs as they expand their businesses.” “Oil and gas producers look to BOC for its knowledge, skill and experience in delivering reliable engineered solutions for their upstream and downstream needs. BOC’s experts have years of industry experience and are focused on designing and delivering solutions that address our customers’ productivity, environmental and economic challenges at their facilities around the world,” Moore said.
