Based on 12 years experience and feedback from customers world wide, Axxicon has launched the “horizontal” AIM Mould System (see picture). Besides the existing advantages (ie quick-change, flexible, safe) the “horizontal” AIM Mould System has following additonal advantages: - increased convenience through changing inserts horizontally - mould bases, mirror plates and inserts fully corrosion resistant - guiding pins and bushes for excellent alignment - compatible with existing mirror plates and inserts - prepared for pneumatic secure/release of mirror plates and inserts The AIM Mould System (introduced in 1989) is a flexible mould system designed to comply exactly with the internationally accepted ISO standards - which are also used by CAMPUS, the plastics database. The AIM Mould System is a multi-functional injection mould with interchangeable inserts, used on conventional injection moulding machines and capable of producing plastic specimens for quality tests according international standards. These types of specimens are commonly used to determine material’s key properties such as tensile strength, Izod and Charpy impact strength, hardness, stress cracking, flammability, multi-axial impact behaviour and gloss/colour matching. The AIM Mould System fully complies with all the requirements for an ISO approved injection mould, with strong emphasis being placed on greater standardisation and uniformity of tests. Manufacturers operating in a global arena need to ensure that a product’s performance is consistent wherever it is made or sold.
