BOC GASES INTRODUCES GAS SOURCE PROGRAM
17 December 2002 - BOC Gases

BOC Gases today announced the launching of the Gas Source distributor program to supply and service a wider range of Canadian customers who use BOC Gases’ gas products, related equipment and supplies. The Gas Source program not only targets BOC Gases’ existing network of partners, but also industrial gas and equipment distributors that would like to complement their existing product lines and business focus.

The Gas Source program provides BOC Gases with the opportunity to partner with companies and retail outlets, in major and smaller cities across Canada, that are interested in adding gases and related welding supplies to existing product lines. BOC Gases is recognized as the most customer-focused industrial gases company in Canada, a reputation based on the lowest cost of supply, superior infrastructure and services, industry expertise and solid management of distribution channels.

"Customer service that excels in meeting expectations and the needs of a changing and more demanding market is the primary focus of the Gas Source program," said Tom Winter, vice president and general manager, BOC Canada. "Our objective is to provide value to our customers by manufacturing, selling and delivering quality gas products, systems and services where and when they are needed."

"BOC Gases has done extensive research to develop a diverse product line of industrial gases that is easy to use," Winter added. "Individual products are designed to meet the unique needs of customers and specific material requirements to produce the most cost-efficient, highest quality weld."

In addition to standard gases like oxygen, acetylene, propane and propylene for fuel gas welding, cutting, shaping and coating of metals and materials, BOC Gases supplies mixtures for arc welding, and for laser and plasma cutting and welding. Industrial customers, particularly in the automotive and construction sectors can use the high quality products, technical expertise, services and strength of BOC’s extensive distributor network to provide innovative welding and cutting solutions designed to help customers be more productive, profitable and competitive.

The Gas Source program is a combination of gas products and related equipment, BOC Gases’ merchandising expertise, and marketing support initiatives. The program offers real added value and spin-off benefits for new distributors who want to attract new customers. The benefits include:

One-stop shopping for industrial customers;
Continuous development of new product lines that offer positioning opportunities to a variety of market sectors;
Promotional co-op programs; and
Local BOC Gases customer sales and service opportunities
"Basically, we offer the expertise, quality products and a reliable source, and distributors provide the local market access," said Winter. "Together, it’s a win-win formula."
