BOC EDWARDS IS FIRST TO LAUNCH VACUUM E-COMMERCE WITH INTEGRATED SUPPLY CHAIN

BOC Edwards, the world leading supplier of gas, chemical, vacuum and exhaust management solutions has launched a new e-commerce service for on-line purchasing of vacuum pumps, components and accessories. Initially available to the U.S. market, the new e-commerce site is the first in the vacuum industry to integrate real time availability and shipping lead times with the company’s supply chain. Commenting on the launch, Antonia Wood, e-commerce project manager, said: “The aim is to extend our established high-quality service by offering a fast and flexible on-line option. Customers can click or call, the choice is theirs. What really sets BOC Edwards apart is that that we have integrated our e-commerce site with our inventory management system so our delivery dates are based on up to date supply chain data as well as available stock. .”

The user-friendly site offers customers everything they need to make an informed decision and complete a transaction. Purchases can be made using either a purchase order or credit card. A comprehensive product catalog provides a vacuum capabilities overview and guides visitors to individual products with supporting technical data. A unique product configurator helps specify entire pumping systems that can be ordered as a single part number.

An on-line tour is available to enable visitors to sample the site and familiarize themselves with its functionality before registering and browsing the wide range of products. Help-desk support is available via email or telephone.
